CCS MISSION STATEMENT
The primary purposes for which the CCS was founded are:
• to foster the development and implementation of clinical applications of cytometry in the diagnosis and management of human pathologic conditions;
• to stimulate and promote research in new applications of cytometry and allied disciplines;
• to promote professional advancement of all aspects of clinical cytometry;
• to foster education and the exchange of information among persons engaged in clinical cytometry by means of an annual meeting and a variety of other educational activities;
• to issue publications in the field of clinical cytometry;
• to interact with agencies, both private and governmental, which regulate, oversee, monitor and control the practice of clinical cytometry, in the interest of and for the benefit of clinical cytometry and the patient it serves.
CCS EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
The objective of the Clinical Cytometry Society is to provide education in the field of clinical flow cytometry that will meet the needs of the beginner as well as the more experienced members. Through education, the society strives to improve the quality of care in the field. The Society provides technical training in the form of lectures, workshops and data lab sessions where participants are exposed to computer analysis of actual patient data. In addition, members are introduced to cutting edge research in the field so that they can anticipate the advent of new clinical tests and educate clinicians in their institutions concerning new potential roles clinical flow cytometry can play in patient management.
MEETING/COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The primary learning objectives for the 2008 Annual Clinical Cytometry Meeting and Course are the following:
• to discuss new insights in the field of Clinical Flow Cytometry
• to discuss and explain research in new applications of cytometry and allied disciplines
• to discuss available and proper techniques in Clinical Flow Cytometry
