We are looking for an experienced flow cytometry laboratory supervisor within the section of Hematopathology at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Pathology laboratory at KFSH&RC is a CAP-accredited for >30 years. KFSH&RC is a premiere medical center in the Middle Eastern region with state-of-the-art clinical and laboratory services.
The person is expected to be a technical and administrative lead in the flow cytometry section, which includes 3 other senior technologists with scope of adding one additional position. He/she will be technical resource to the staff and troubleshoot as and when needed. Other responsibilities include development, optimization and validation of new tests, completing proficiency testing and maintaining supply inventory. Nearly all the services provided by the flow lab are clinical and includes:analysis of leukemia/lymphoma samples, T-and B-cell subset analysis, CD34 stem cell analysis, PNH, immunodeficiency and other specialized flow testing. There is also scope for translational research.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Physical/Life Science with a minimum of 5 years’ experience or more in flow cytometry laboratory procedures. Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or certification in the one of the clinical laboratory disciplines (Clinical Flow cytometry, Hematology, or Immunology) with ASCP is preferred.
OTHER DESIRABLE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:Excellent written/verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills. Ability to use good problem solving techniques. Team-oriented and results-drive. Competency with Becton-Dickinson flow cytometry instrumentation.
