This Laboratory Scientist will be responsible for:

  • Working with the Laboratory Director, other scientists and industry, to design, develop, implement and evaluate new areas of patient testing in the specific discipline.

  • Adapting and modifying technology for application to the pediatric laboratory environment.

  • Developing policies, procedures and quality control systems to support new areas of testing. Analyzing cost and financial impact of new testing.

  • Developing a program to train and assure the competence of technical staff in the theory, interpretation of results and practice of new testing areas.

  • Maintaining a high level of technical expertise.

  • Assessing trends in hospital programs, laboratory operations and emerging technology in order to develop appropriate emerging clinical laboratory services.

  • May publish or present findings in appropriate clinical settings.

  • All specialty testing within the Core Labs for Flow Cytometry.

  • Quality Control.

  • Assay Developments.


To qualify, you must have:

  • The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in a clinical laboratory science or a closely related field.

  • Seven or more years of experience.

  • A broad and thorough range of advanced expertise in order to perform innovative and original clinical or scientific research at the highest levels.

  • Excellent communication skills in order to persuade and negotiate with others on important matters.

  • Hematology experience required.

  • Need to have knowledge of Coagulation.

  • ASCP Certification/Registration preferred, but not required.
