The Supervisor-Lab Technical provides technical leadership and serves as a resource to production for resolving technical issues and attaining specialty and/or departmental goals. This role works very closely with our hematopathologists. Seeks to improve and enhance Laboratory and LIS Systems functionality through efficient use of resources, open communication with users regarding needs and systems uses, and reduction in the number and/or complexity of user tasks. Selects, calibrates, validates, implements, maintains, and troubleshoots methods and equipment using technical knowledge, discretion, and judgment. Oversees, coordinates, and participates in the training of laboratory staff, students, residents, and others as appropriate including preparation of instructional materials. Performs tests and reports results following standard operating procedures for patient specimens, proficiency samples, and quality control. Prepares and maintains documents and records, including laboratory information system (LIS). Performs other duties as needed.

Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Science required. Master's Degree preferred. A minimum of four years of experience in high complexity laboratory. Minimum of two years of experience in quality system implementation preferred. Minimum of one year of prior supervisory experience preferred. California Clinical Scientist (CLS) required. CLS (NCA) or MT(ASCP) preferred.
